Project Brief

This project features a robust outdoor setup, utilizing a 112kWh Dawnice energy storage cabinet integrated seamlessly with a 50kW Solis inverter. As seen in the project photos, the system is installed outdoors alongside a highly efficient bifacial solar panel fence, maximizing space utilization and solar yield.

Background

Poland’s energy market has experienced significant shifts, with grid electricity prices prompting commercial and industrial users to seek self-sufficient alternatives. The client required a highly reliable, high-capacity energy storage solution that could withstand outdoor European weather conditions while handling substantial commercial loads.

The primary goals for this installation were:

  1. Maximizing PV Self-Consumption: Storing excess solar energy generated during the day for use during peak operational hours or at night.

  2. Peak Shaving: Reducing grid reliance during high-tariff periods to significantly lower operational electricity costs.

  3. Space Efficiency: Finding a solution that could be safely and efficiently installed outdoors without taking up valuable indoor facility space.

Project Highlights

  • Seamless Hardware Integration: The system beautifully demonstrates the high compatibility between the Dawnice 112kWh battery system and the 50kW Solis inverter. The inverter is efficiently mounted directly onto the battery cabinet, minimizing cable runs (as seen with the heavy-duty blue conduit) and reducing energy loss.

  • Rugged Outdoor Durability: Designed specifically for outdoor environments, the Dawnice C&I cabinet features an advanced IP-rated enclosure. It effectively protects the internal lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells and sensitive electronics from Poland’s fluctuating seasonal temperatures and weather conditions.

  • High Power Output & Capacity: The 50kW Solis inverter provides robust power handling for heavy commercial equipment, while the 112kWh Dawnice battery ensures an extended energy supply, offering exceptional grid independence.

  • Smart Thermal Management: The Dawnice cabinet is equipped with intelligent industrial-grade cooling systems, ensuring the battery operates within its optimal temperature range, thereby maximizing lifespan and safety.

  • Innovative Site Utilization: By pairing the localized outdoor energy storage unit with solar panels functioning as a property boundary fence, the client achieved a highly innovative, dual-purpose renewable energy architecture.
