Dawnice has successfully deployed and commissioned a 100kW/200kWh Commercial & Industrial (C&I) All-In-One Energy Storage System (ESS) in Switzerland. Powered by the Dawnice HZEB-ESS100P-200 battery system, the project is optimized for Peak Shaving & Valley Filling to smooth local grid loads. By intelligently mitigating peak demands and executing energy arbitrage , the system directly minimizes premium capacity charges for the Swiss facility, delivering an estimated payback period of 6 years.

Background

Commercial entities in Switzerland operate within a highly dynamic energy market enforced with substantial time-of-use tariffs and stringent demand charges. When an industrial plant’s electricity usage peaks beyond set grid allowances, utilities levy heavily penalized capacity fees. To mitigate these operational risks and manage escalating overheads, this Swiss industrial facility partnered with Dawnice. By implementing an all-in-one storage cabinet, the factory can now absorb low-cost grid energy during off-peak periods and discharge it when corporate production loads surge, safely dampening peak curves.

Project Highlights

  • 100kW/200kWh Smart Outdoor All-In-One Integration The project utilizes a highly integrated outdoor cabinet design delivering a rated output of 100kW and a nominal capacity of 200.7kWh. Neatly encapsulating the storage inverter, premium battery arrays, a smart cooling system, and an intelligent EMS , it delivers a high protection rating optimized for diverse European climates.

  • Long-Lifecycle LiFePO4 Battery Engineering The system is built on a 1P224S configuration featuring high-density 280Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) cells with a rated DC voltage of 716.8V. Delivering an exceptional cycle life of >6000 cycles (@25°C, 0.5C, 90% DOD, 70% EOL) and backed by a 5+5 years warranty , the project is engineered to achieve a lifetime cumulative discharge energy of 322.3MWh.

  • Optimized Peak Shaving & Commercial Energy Arbitrage Driven by state-of-the-art management controls, the system dynamically manages facility load curves. Beyond smoothing localized grid stresses via peak-shaving , it enables automated energy arbitrage—charging when grid rates are low or solar is abundant, and discharging during peak utility pricing to unlock immediate cost relief.

  • Modular Design Scalable for Up to 10 Units in Parallel To align with future corporate expansion or scaling facility loads, the cabinet features built-in modular scalability. The advanced architecture allows for up to 10 cabinets to be tied in parallel , providing maximum flexibility for step-by-step energy capacity customization.

  • Cloud Platform Management & Multi-State Proactive Tracking The ESS features fast state-monitoring and comprehensive fault logging to enable proactive pre-alarms and rapid fault isolation. Coupled with the integrated Dawnice Cloud Platform for remote diagnostic analysis , it maintains safe operational continuity across extreme ambient temperatures ranging from -30°C to 55°C.
