The system integrates a high-capacity 225kWh Commercial & Industrial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) connected on the DC side, paired with a cutting-edge Deye High-Voltage Hybrid Inverter. Designed for scalability and high efficiency, this ground-mounted solar microgrid maximizes renewable energy self-consumption, optimizes peak demand management, and ensures absolute power reliability for local commercial operations under demanding Nordic climate conditions.

Background

As Estonia and the wider Baltic region transition toward stricter carbon neutrality goals, commercial enterprises face escalating challenges related to volatile electricity spot prices (Nord Pool market fluctuations) and strict grid compliance codes. Ground-mounted solar arrays are highly effective during Estonia’s long summer days, but without large-scale storage, excess daytime generation is wasted or sold back to the grid at suboptimal rates.

Furthermore, industrial equipment requires highly stable voltage and quick backup response to prevent costly operational downtime. To address these challenges, the client deployed our integrated 225kWh cabinet storage solution paired with Deye’s high-voltage technology to transition from basic solar generation to complete, intelligent energy management.

  • High-Voltage Architecture for Superior System Efficiency By utilizing Deye’s high-voltage hybrid inverter coupled with the 225kWh battery system, the project benefits from minimized DC-to-AC conversion losses. The high-voltage configuration reduces system current, lowers heat generation, and permits thinner, safer cabling—resulting in a highly reliable and efficient performance profile that maximizes the return on investment (ROI) for commercial users.

  • Ruggedized All-in-One Cabinet for Extreme Climates The 225kWh BESS is housed in a heavy-duty, climate-controlled outdoor enclosure explicitly designed to withstand Estonia’s harsh winter conditions. Equipped with an intelligent internal temperature regulation system and automated fire suppression, the cabinet guarantees the lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells operate within their optimal temperature range year-round, securing a lifespan exceeding 6,000 cycles.

  • Advanced Multi-Scenario Energy Arbitrage (Peak Shaving) Integrated with Deye’s intelligent energy management platform, the system operates on a smart scheduling algorithm. It performs peak-shaving by discharging stored green energy during high-tariff industrial peaks and charging during periods of maximum solar output or negative grid pricing. This dynamic control significantly lowers the facility’s demand charge and grid reliance.

  • UPS-Class Seamless Microgrid Backup In the event of localized grid instability or winter storm outages, the Deye high-voltage inverter works in unison with the battery’s high-speed BMS. The system transitions to off-grid island mode within milliseconds, delivering continuous, uncompromised power to critical commercial loads, assembly lines, and monitoring systems.
