Project Brief
This case study highlights a high-capacity residential energy storage solution installed in Romania. The system utilizes three Dawnice HZEB-LCT-16 LiFePO4 batteries connected in parallel. With each unit providing a nominal energy of 16.07kWh, the total system capacity reaches an impressive 48.2kWh. These batteries are seamlessly integrated with a Solis hybrid inverter and an external ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) distribution box equipped with a wireless monitoring module. This setup guarantees efficient solar energy storage and smart grid-tied/off-grid switching for the homeowner.

Background
Driven by fluctuating energy prices across Europe and the strong push from Romania’s “Casa Verde Fotovoltaice” (Green House Photovoltaic) subsidy program, the homeowner decided to invest in a robust, future-proof energy system. Located in a Romanian region that experiences harsh winters and occasional grid instability, the client required a high-capacity backup solution capable of powering the entire house—including heavy heating loads—during prolonged outages. Furthermore, the client explicitly requested that the battery system communicate flawlessly with their preferred Solis hybrid inverter to ensure a fully automated and reliable microgrid.

Seamless Inverter Compatibility: The Dawnice energy storage battery features an advanced built-in BMS. It communicates perfectly with the Solis hybrid inverter via standard CAN/RS232 communication interfaces, ensuring precise data monitoring, intelligent charge/discharge scheduling, and absolute system safety.

Massive Capacity & Scalability: By paralleling three 16.07kWh HZEB-LCT-16 units, the system delivers over 48kWh of reliable energy. Thanks to the highly flexible modular design, this battery series is scalable up to 15 units in parallel, allowing the homeowner to easily expand their storage capacity if their energy needs grow in the future.

Exceptional Cycle Life: Utilizing premium LiFePO4 cell configuration, the battery guarantees outstanding long-term durability. It boasts a cycle life of ≥8000 cycles at 25°C and 90% DOD, maximizing the client’s return on investment over the system’s lifespan.

Robust Protection & Flexible Installation: Designed for unpredictable environments, the batteries feature an IP54 rating, providing excellent dust and water protection. They support both wall/ground mounted installation methods, fitting neatly into the household’s technical room.

Smart Cloud Management: Supported by an external 4G/WiFi industrial router connected to the ATS box, the system enables remote fault diagnosis, upgrade and maintenance through a dedicated cloud platform, offering the Romanian homeowner ultimate peace of mind and convenient mobile control.
